How long does home battery installation take?

Agree the duration of mounting, connection and handover with your installer based on the survey and chosen system. Also ask about the wait between your request and installation day.
Ask what preparation is needed, whether materials are available and when you need to be home. Have the installation partner confirm the schedule and agree how changes will be communicated.

Connecting a home battery: what happens technically?
The installer connects the battery to the electrical installation according to the plan for your system. Discuss the inverter, cabling and protection involved and how any solar panels fit into the setup.
Not every system is connected in the same way. Ask about the cable route and meter cupboard work. Agree beforehand whether power needs to be switched off and which appliances or activities you need to prepare.
Also discuss the software and settings for the chosen system. Ask for a demonstration of the controls at handover and check which access details or accounts you need.
P1 port and consumption insight
Ask which measurements the chosen system uses and whether it needs a P1 connection. Have the available connections in your home checked. This lets you discuss the required links before installation.

Handover and documentation
Ask the installer to explain the test results and controls. Ask which messages apply to your system. If you see a fault code or unexpected behaviour after handover, consult the manual and contact the installer.
Agree beforehand which documents you will receive and check them at handover. Keep the manual, system details and agreements somewhere you can find them when you have a question or fault.
Ask which warranty agreements apply to the battery and installation work, and who handles them. Check the provider's terms and any manufacturer warranty before commissioning the work.
